How to choose an AC company in Dubai without getting burned

Licence, scope, warranty and a written diagnosis. Four checks that filter out most of the bad experiences.

Searching for the "best AC service in Dubai" returns a wall of near-identical claims. Ratings can be bought, badges can be fabricated, and the cheapest quote is often the most expensive outcome. Use checks that are hard to fake.

1. Licensing and insurance

AC work in the UAE is licensed activity. Ask for the trade licence number and check the activity actually covers air conditioning maintenance or contracting. Ask whether technicians are the company''s own staff and whether the company carries third-party liability insurance — relevant the moment water damage reaches a neighbour.

Many buildings also require contractors to be registered with building management and to submit a work permit for anything beyond a filter clean.

2. A written diagnosis before a quote

Good companies tell you what failed and how they know, in writing, with readings. Bad ones quote a part over the phone. If a technician recommends a compressor without showing you a single measurement, get a second opinion — that is the single most expensive component in the system.

3. Warranty in writing

Ask for two things: the manufacturer warranty on any part fitted, and the company''s own warranty on labour. Thirty to ninety days on labour is a normal ask. "No warranty" on a repair is a statement about how confident they are.

4. Scope clarity

Get the invoice broken into call-out, labour, parts and gas. Vague single-line invoices are where padding hides. Confirm before the visit whether the call-out fee is waived if you proceed with the repair.

Signals that are worth little

  • Star ratings with no verifiable job history
  • "24/7" claims that turn into a callback next afternoon
  • Stock photos of technicians and generic "award" badges
  • Prices quoted before anyone has asked what system you have

Practical tests during the visit

  • Do they measure, or only look? Meters and gauges should come out.
  • Do they explain in plain language what they are doing?
  • Do they photograph the fault?
  • Do they leave the work area clean and the filter refitted correctly?

Where we fit

We are not a repair company. We take your request, structure it — service, symptom, system type, area, urgency — and offer it to one verified provider at a time until someone with real capacity accepts. You get the company name and a tracking link, and after the job we ask how it went. That feedback decides who keeps receiving requests, which is a slower but more honest signal than a star rating.
